Azeri troops set fire to areas near 3 Gegharkunik villages

The Office of Armenia’s Human Rights Defender said in a statement that according to the accounts from the local residents, Azeri troops have set fires to areas near the villages of Verin Shorzha, Nerkin Shorzha, and Ayrk in the Gegharkunik province.
Taking into account that the Azerbaijani armed forces invaded and are located in the immediate vicinity of the villages in the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, the fires pose a real threat to the civilian population of the villages as well. Fires also cause serious social problems for people, the statement said, adding that similar acts were perpetrated by Azeri troop about a month ago, near the villages of Kut, Verin Shorzha and Sotk among others.
