26.08.2021 | 18:18The Armenia and I Have Honor blocs have issued a joint statement, which says in parts:
“On August 24-26, the so-called program of the government was discussed in the National Assembly and approved by the ruling party, which did not contain practical solutions to the existing extreme challenges, moreover, it contains serious risks. During the discussion, a number of questions of public concern were raised, to which mainly the authorities gave false, manipulative or evasive answers.
Moreover, on August 25, outright hooliganism, criminally prosecuted by the ruling group, took place against the MPs of the opposition faction, with the role of specific attackers. It should be noted that the fulfillment of the responsibilities of the competent body for the prevention of the mentioned act was intentionally delayed. Such an action took place during the exchange of views, with the aim of once again establishing a dictatorial regime even in parliament.
The statement by the Prosecutor General’s Office shows that, as before, now too, no representative of the ruling group has been subjected to any criminal coercive measure. It is worth mentioning that the document, which is supposed to be a government program, literally stated that the courts, the prosecutor’s office and the investigative bodies “must ensure the implementation of the mandate of the government received from the people”, in other words, the abolition of law enforcement independence is already a program provision. We state that this government, headed by Nikol Pashinyan, bears all the responsibility for the current disgraceful state of the interstate road in Syunik, the impudent, criminally prosecuted act and possible disasters that took place in the National Assembly.”
