As reported earlier, the negotiations on the unblocking of the Karmrakar-Shurnukh and Goris-Vorotan road sections have resumed. However, Syunik Lt Governor Karo Avanesyan told Factor.am that the Azerbaijani side did not want to hold talks with the Armenian side, so the Russians also joined the talks. “As of 16:12, the trilateral talks have resumed,” he said.
Kapan mayor Gevorg Parsyan had told us earlier that Azeris were late, and the Armenian side had been waiting for them for some time.
Azeri forces blocked the Karmrakar-Shurnukh section of the Kapan-Goris interstate road in the morning of August 25. Vehicles in that area were evacuated. Later, they also blocked the road from Goris to Vorotan.
