The 8th National Assembly of Armenia opened today with the newly-elected MPs swearing in to take office. The text of the oath was read out by Knyaz Hasanov, who chaired the sitting, then the MPs pronounced one word “We swear.”

Three political forces are represented in the newly elected parliament: The Civil Contract party, the Armenia bloc and the I Have Honor bloc. The newly elected parliament has 107 members.
