Preliminary investigation of criminal case of inciting ethnic hatred over – NSS

The Investigation Department of the National Security Service has completed the preliminary investigation of the criminal case of S.S., an ethnic Yezidi, who is accused of inciting ethnic hatred.
According to the indictment, S.S., in a May 2020 interview with the Iraqi news site yezidinews.com, gave misleading information, presenting Armenia as a state of national discrimination in political, economic, social, cultural and other spheres of public life, which was allegedly expressed by Armenians in violation of Yezidi rights and freedoms, or in violation of the right to practice or express oneself in a private manner, with gross violations of the rights of Yezidis to life, property, the preservation of their identity and traditions, education, and the use of language.
On July 29, 2021, the criminal case was sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office with an indictment to be approved and to be referred to court.
