Economic activity grows by 8%; construction and foreign trade in lead

The economic activity index grew by 8% this compared with the June 2020, according to the State Statistical Committee data.
The volume of industrial production amounted grew by 1.3%; construction grew by 1.3%; retail by 10.3%; services by 12%; foreign trade increased by 20.1%.
5% growth of economic activity in the first half of the year
The economic activity index has grown by 5% during the first half of the year compared with the same period last year.
The volume of construction has increased the most, which is one of the areas most affected by coronavirus-related restrictions during this period last year. In January-June, the volume of construction increased by 10.8% compared with the same period last year. Foreign trade turnover increased by 13.1% in these six months. Moreover, exports have increased more than imports. Thus, exports from Armenia has grown by 23.3% compared with the same period last year, and imports by 7.9%.
