The Human Rights Defender’s Office received an alarm about the capture of one of the residents of Machkalashen community of Martuni region, Artsakh Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan has said.

It became known that the person was a resident of Machkalashen community, born in 1989, who was engaged in cattle breeding, while searching for lost animals, he appeared in the area under the control of the Azerbaijani toops. The community authorities informed the Russian peacekeepers about this.

His mother, Hasmik Manasyan, told Factor.am how the incident happened ․ “He always came home at 8:30, but that time he was late. I sent my husband to find him but before my husband could find him the village head called and said that the cows had gone far. Ms. Hasmik also said that Artak had been returned through the mediation of Russian peacekeepers.

“The Russians have already brought him, but he is not home yet, they have taken him to check if everything is fine,” she said
