As of June 30, the national debt of Armenia amounted to $8,869,000,000. It has increased by $53 million compared to the previous month, the Ministry of Finance says on its website.

At the beginning of the year the national debt was $7,968,000,000 million. Thus, it has increased by $901 million or 11.3% as compared to the beginning of the year. Most of the national is the foreign debt, which amounts to $6,209,000,000. These include foreign loans and borrowings, bonds acquired by non-residents, government-denominated foreign currency bonds acquired by non-residents.

Back in February, Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan said that by the end of the year the government debt would approach $8.5 billion, and the national debt would reach approximately $8.9 billion. Thus, as of June, the government debt is already $ 8.4 billion, and the state debt is $ 8.86 billion. It turns out that in the six months of the year, the state debt almost reached the limit set for the end of the year.
