08.07.2021 | 15:35My dream court is one that has ethically behaving, professional judges, where trials take place quickly, there is a high level of public trust in rulings, Acting Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan told journalists after the Government sitting, referring to the increase in the number of judges and the statement of Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that they hope to get a dream judiciary
He said the CP platform contained all the aspects of the judiciary reforms from possible constitutional amendments to concrete initiatives that already exist, such as the establishment of specialized courts, an anti-corruption court package. To the question when the judges who worked with violations will leave, as Nikol Pashinyan promised during the election campaign, Badasyan responded that disciplinary proceedings are available. He said there are many initiated disciplinary proceedings, judicial reforms are underway.
By breaking the closed chain, we must ensure the entry of new people into judiciary, Badasyan underscored.
When asked there is internal resistance from the judiciary, Badasyan answered: “I do not see any internal resistance at the moment, I do not see its potential. It should make sense to act hard, in the case when the law allows to act hard, one should act hard to achieve the goal, but that is not an end in itself,” Badasyan said.
