“France welcomes the release of 15 Armenian citizens detained by Azerbaijan, as well as the transfer by Armenia of minefield maps of the Fizuli and Zangelan regions,” the statement said.
The Ministry said that this is a significant step towards easing tensions and restoring trust between the sides. It called on the sides to fulfill the commitments made in the November 9, 2020 declaration, including a substantive dialogue and the release of all Armenian captives. The statement says that France reaffirms its readiness to promote long-term peace in the Caucasus.
On July 3, the Armenian government announced that 15 Armenian captives captured by Azerbaijan had returned to Armenia mediated by Russia.
