01.07.2021 | 19:25The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Artsakh Republic welcomes the recognition by the U.S. state of New Jersey of the Artsakh Republic’s right to self-determination and independence, Artsakh Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued today.
“The relevant resolution passed by the State Senate condemns the 1915 Genocide, the decades-long anti-Armenian policy of Azerbaijan, the large-scale war waged by Turkey, Azerbaijan and international terrorists against the Artsakh Republic in 2020, considering them as components of a single genocidal policy,” the statement said.
The US state of New Jersey recognized Artsakh on June 30. In addition to recognizing Artsakh, the Senate condemned Turkey and Azerbaijan for aggression against the civilian population of Artsakh and Armenia and reaffirmed the recognition of the Armenian Genocide. New Jersey is the 10th U.S. state to recognize Artsakh.
