CSTO Parliamentary Assembly can be expanded to involve new partner states

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) plans to establish an institution of partner states with consultative voting right, CSTO PA President, Speaker of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin said this today, EurAsia Daily wrote.
“It is proposed to consider the issue of creating a new institution of partnership for the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. They will have the right to a consultative voting right, to participate in the preparation of documents, to the elaboration of collective decisions,” Volodin said at a meeting of the organization’s board. According to him, the emergence of a new status is of great importance for increasing the efficiency of the Assembly and its openness. He also called for the strengthening of coordination in the CSTO PA in the international arena “for the most effective promotion and protection of the organization’s agenda.”
