Catholicos Aram I, Pope Francis to address Vatican summit

Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I is scheduled to take part in a meeting of Lebanese Christian leaders, which will be attended also by Pope Francis. The meeting will take place on July 1 and will consist of two parts: a discussion of the current situation in Lebanon and a public ceremony in support of Lebanon. The first part of the meeting will be addressed by Pope Francis, Catholicos Aram I, as well as Patriarch Ray. The Armenian Catholicos, in particular, responding to the Pope’s proposal, will speak about the current economic and political situation in Lebanon and the possibilities to get out of it.
Aram I has played a major role in organizing the meeting, sending a letter to the Pope two months ago, which was widely covered by the Lebanese, European and Vatican media.
