PACE summer session opens in Strasbourg

Equality and protection of women will be one of the main topics of the PACE summer session, which starts in Strasbourg today. As in the previous session early in the year, the discussions will again take place in a hybrid format, in the presence of a limited number of parliamentarians in the session hall, TASS reported. On the first day, the MPS are set to approve the agenda, decide on the current format (without resolutions) “The situation in Belarus is a threat to all Europe” and “The need to create an effective mechanism of solidarity between European countries in order to alleviate the migration pressure on the countries that are taking the main blow” debates. The preliminary discussion on Belarus, if approved, could take place on Wednesday, and the second topic could be discussed on Thursday.
